Bob Hurlbert

 

Sensei Bob Hurlbert,  is a 1st degree black belt and assistant instructor at the Vacaville Wado Ki Kai school.

Bob's martial art journey started in 1988 as a Tae Kwon Do practitioner in Montreal, Canada.  Continuing his path into the martial arts he also practiced Shotokan in 1989.

Sensei Hurlbert started his Wado Ki Kai training in 1989 at the Mariner’s  Square Athletic Club in Alameda, earning his Black Belt Shodan in 1995 under Sensei Ferol Arce.  

From 1998 to 2000, Bob was the Instructor for the Vallejo karate classes at 24 Hour Fitness Center to allow Sensei Martinez to start a new dojo over in Fairfield at the 24 Hour Fitness Center.

From 2000 to the present, Sensei Hurlbert has traveled around the world (Asia, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, and China) to expand his knowledge and training as a guest instructor with different martial arts instructors that he comes in contact with.

Through the years he has also worked with other Wado Ki Kai instructors such as Justin Fawsitt, Anthony Corpuz, Allen Nunley and Carlos Martinez and provided his extended training in Arnis (Filipino Sticks Fighting).
