Sensei Allen Nunley holds a 5th Degree Black Belt, and is Head Instructor of Nunley’s Karate-Do. A member of the American Teacher Association of the Martial Arts (ATAMA) and the International Society of Okinawan/Japanese Karate-Do (ISOK). Allen began his training in the famous Market Street Dojo in 1980 in San Francisco with the late John Pereira, an 8th Degree Black Belt, founder of Wado Ki Kai. Allen continued to train and teach with Master Instructor John Pereira until 1991. In 1991, Allen began teaching at Franklin Recreation Center in Oakland with a good friend Larry Gill. Allen was the assistant instructor for five years, before he decided to move on. In 1996 he started his own Dojo at 24-hour Fitness Centers in Walnut Creek, Concord and Antioch, where he taught for 3 ˝ years before relocating to Pittsburg, California. In 1999 Allen went into business for himself by opening his own karate studio in Pittsburg, California, where he presently runs both the kids and adult classes. Allen also teaches cardio kick boxing. Allen appreciates the art and self-defense and values of martial arts training.
